Abstract

Professional boundaries are not only about how people work with clients, but extend to how they manage themselves and their emotions.  The guidelines and boundaries explained in this book are intended for social work and other social care professionals in a wide range of social care fields.  The author, Frank Cooper, wisely acknowledges that the book does not cover particular policy and procedures, insurance, supervision and legal and ethical responsibilities.  However, thoughtful consideration is certainly given to these topics, but not in a prescriptive manner.
